Profiles of Success

Kevin Davies
Asheville, NC
Previous Occupation: Construction
Previous Income: $55,000
Current Income: $300-$350,000

"What I like best about NAA is the integrity of the company, the true team player attitude of the agency managers that are really driving the company, and the forward thinking, big picture mentality of Andy , Barry, and Philip."

Kevin did not have an inborn interest in insurance; he initially worked in the building materials business and managed a large retail lumber company. In this career, Kevin handled all of the inner workings of the business, as well as overseeing over 30 employees. Later he took over management of a wholesale building materials company that made him savvier on the ins and outs of business. Before coming to NAA, however, Kevin had no past experience in the insurance business.
He first heard of NAA through his son, Stephen Davies , who had become successful in his own right. Soon after, Kevin earned his own insurance license in late 2004. The 2005 National Convention solidified his decision to join his son at NAA. The experience revolutionized his idea of insurance and made him go from writing contracts part time to fully dedicating himself to NAA.
The company challenged Kevin's idea of the typical insurance company; instead of NAA's top producers being cookie-cutter versions of each other, they were a diverse group of people from all walks of life, many of which had overcome trying financial positions. At this point, he said to himself, "If all these people can do this, so can I."
In his previous job, Kevin would make a yearly income of $55,000. Now after four years at NAA, he's making over $300,000. Kevin attributes his success to listening, plugging in completely, and by following the system. In order to stay focused and keep positive, he follows Andy advice and reads books that inspire him. Kevin knows the key to success is realizing the opportunity cannot be realized in one day; it takes time and commitment. Making the decision to succeed and sticking with it is the only way to sustain long term success.
Kevin's inspiration not only lies in books, but also in his family; he is the proud father of four children who also want to join the NAA team; Oldest daughter, Colleen, is a licensed agent and protects families with the help of her husband, Paul Kincaid, an agency manager. Sons Stephen and Glenn both are Master Agency managers, and youngest Brendan expects to get his license soon. His wife also supports him as the office manager for his own agency.
"NAA has improved my life in the fact that now I have complete control of my life, time to do what I want, more income, and real opportunity to grow an agency and create an income stream that will last for life."
